From the M65

From the M65 – leave the M65 at Junction 5 (Shadsworth) heading towards Blackburn go straight across the traffic light junction (Guide) then round the next 3 roundabouts and at the fourth turn right into the hospital grounds. Passing A&E on the left continue to the rear of the hospital and the main entrance is on the left. Continue on to the main car park and take a ticket at the barrier.

Entrance and Level 1

Enter at Main Entrance – walk towards W.H.Smiths and turn left, continue along to lifts/stairs to Level 2.

Level 2  – Directions to Children’s Out Patients

Leave lift/stairs at Level 2 – turn left on leaving lift, turn right on leaving stairs. Take first left and passing ENT Clinic
on the left, continue along the corridor until the entrance to Children’s Medical Unit and Children’s Out Patients.

By Bus

The hospital is well served by bus with over 30 buses an hour using Rochdale Road during the day, the most frequent being the 409 between Ashton under Lyne, Oldham, Royton and Rochdale. There are also 8 other bus services to a number of locations.  The hospital is around a 5 minute bus ride from Oldham Bus Station, where further connections to services from other areas are available.

The nearest bus stops for the hospital are located on each side of Rochdale Road, outside the hospital grounds (Stops A, B, C and D).  Bus stops surrounding the hospital have information posted and are letter coded. By Car

The hospital is located just off the A671 Rochdale Road, with access to the lower part of the hospital also on Westhulme Way, off the A627 Chadderton Way.

When You Arrive

The Main Entrance, Entrance 1 and Entrance 2 are located at the front of the hospital. Accident and Emergency (A&E) has its own entrance alongside Entrance 1. An information desk for directions and assistance is situated at the main entrance.

Patient and visitor parking areas 1,2 and 6 are located around the main entrance off Rochdale Road or via Granville Street at the front of the hospital, with patient and visitor car park 3 being located in an area just after Westhulme Way Gate entrance. Drop off/pick up areas and some further small areas of blue badge or patient and visitor parking are located near to Entrances 1, 3 and 4; and also located close to some departments within the site itself.

Royal Rover – travel around the hospital site

The Royal Rover is a minibus service operated by volunteers, between the hours of 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, to provide transport around the hospital site only. The bus operates as hail and ride, or you can call 07972 142 907 to book a journey.
